We only process personal data insofar as this is necessary. Depending on the purpose, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) GDPR: point (a) where you have given consent, point (b) for taking pre-contractual steps and performing a contract (handling your enquiry about metal trading, clearance or machinery trading), and point (f) to protect our legitimate interest in the secure, trouble-free operation of this website.

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA. When you access the site, the host automatically processes server log files transmitted by your browser: IP address, date and time of access, requested page or file, browser used and its version, operating system and the previously visited page (referrer). This processing serves the technical provision, operational security and defence against attacks; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR. Vercel is a processor pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR; for transfers to the USA, Vercel relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

If you use one of our enquiry forms (metal purchasing and scrap, industrial clearances, machinery trading), we process the data you enter: company, contact person, phone number and/or email address, your details on material, quantity, location, clearance or machine, and your message. The data is used exclusively to review and handle your enquiry; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

The data is transmitted in encrypted form to the form service of our web service provider (hosted by Vercel Inc.). The enquiry is stored there in a database of Supabase Inc. and delivered to us by email (sent via Resend, Inc., USA) and by WhatsApp message (WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. / Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; a transfer to the USA is possible). A hidden field keeps out automated spam submissions. The service providers used are processors pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR.

If you contact us by phone or email or send photos and documents for your enquiry, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR). If you use the WhatsApp button, your message and your phone number are transmitted to WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. or Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.; a transfer to the USA may take place. The WhatsApp privacy notice also applies.

This website does not set cookies and does not use any tracking or marketing services. Your browser only stores locally that you have confirmed the privacy notice at the bottom of the screen (entry “cookie-consent”); this is technically necessary so that the notice does not reappear on every visit (§ 25 (2) TDDDG).

To measure reach, we count page views without cookies and without profiling: the requested page, the previously visited page (referrer) and, where applicable, campaign parameters of the address are transmitted; country and city are derived from the connection on the server. If “Do Not Track” is enabled in your browser, no counting takes place. The recipient is our web service provider; the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (improving our offer). The fonts are served by this website itself, not by external font servers. The “Plan your route” link only opens Google Maps when you click it; no data is transmitted to Google beforehand.

We only store personal data for as long as is necessary for the stated purposes. Enquiries that do not lead to an order are deleted as soon as they are no longer needed. Where statutory retention obligations exist (in particular under § 147 AO and § 257 HGB), the data concerned is retained until the respective period expires and then deleted.

Under the GDPR you have the following rights: access to the data stored about you (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You can withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future. An informal message to the contact details above is sufficient.

Where we process data on the basis of legitimate interests (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you have the right to object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests, or the processing serves the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

Without prejudice to any other remedy, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia (LDI NRW), Kavalleriestraße 2–4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.
